About Conor
Conor is a commercial litigation and disputes lawyer in Thynne + Macartney's Disputes + Insolvency group. Working closely with partner Marc Maskell, he acts for clients in a range of litigious and non-litigious disputes.
He assists the team in providing advice to a range of clients on:
- Personal and corporate insolvency
- Property and leasing disputes
- Commercial and contractual disputes
- Building and Construction disputes
- Litigation and dispute resolution
- Debt recovery
Conor has appeared in Magistrates Court of Queensland, District Court of Queensland and Supreme Court of Queensland across a wide array of proceedings.
Prior to joining Thynne + Macartney in 2023, Conor gained six years' experience at a commercial law firm in legal and non-legal roles.
Qualifications
- Admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland in December 2020
- Bachelor of Laws (Honours) - Queensland University of Technology
- Bachelor of Business (Finance) - Queensland University of Technology
Relevant experience
- Appearing without counsel in both contested and uncontested matters in each of the State Courts for a variety of matters. This includes successfully defending an urgent Supreme Court application, which was then promptly settled in advance of any further litigation.
- Instructing counsel and multitude of experts in a Supreme Court trial involving a residential property dispute.
- Successful applications to wind up companies in the Supreme Court after failure to comply with statutory demand.
- Preparation of advice for multiple directors facing public examinations and notices to produce.
- Providing advice and direction to liquidator client for company in liquidation, including complex PPSA considerations.
- Appearing in the Magistrates Court on behalf of QLS referral for contraventions against the Food Act 2006 (Qld) resulting in no conviction.
