The Thomson River at Longreach and Barcaldine Rec Park will heave with rowers and boats for the 2024 Australian Outback Rowing Regatta between 5 and 6 October.
Combining distance and sprint racing, this year’s regatta will expand to include crews from the T+M Bush Boats Program.
Five rowing boats, donated by various rowing schools and clubs in Brisbane, have been reconditioned and sent out to Toowoomba, Chinchilla and Longreach for local crews to train in and wrangle for six weeks in preparation for the Regatta.
Thynne + Macartney’s sponsorship of the Program creates an opportunity for clients, friends and residents of Western Queensland to develop good health and comradeship by rowing first-class boats and preparing for the fun and adventure of racing in the outback.
