About Raquel
Raquel is a partner in Thynne + Macartney's Agriculture group, based in Toowoomba. She has more than 15 years' experience working alongside farmers and landowners in the negotiation of complex coal seam gas, mining and resource and renewable energy agreements.
With experience in local government and the coal seam gas (CSG) industry, Raquel has a deep understanding of agricultural practices and land management. Her experience acting for clients in the Darling Downs, Westerns Downs, Maranoa and Central Queensland, includes:
- Advising landholders in CSG, mining and resource matters
- Negotiating agreements on behalf of landowners for renewable energy projects
- Land acquisitions and resumptions
- Leasing and sale transactions.
Raquel works to ensure her clients' legal interests are protected throughout negotiations with project proponents, and the level of compensation paid is maximised. She leverages her extensive experience as a negotiator, adept at influencing favourable outcomes for her clients. She has an in-depth understanding of statutory and dispute resolution processes, including alternative dispute resolution, mediation, arbitration and court.

Raquel is based in Toowoomba, and regularly travels to clients throughout rural Queensland.
