Katie presented her paper on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) at the annual Queensland Environment Law Association (QELA) conference. Her presentation was well-received.
The Conference theme was “Charting the Course” and was aimed at “identifying the big issues that will help us chart the course toward a sustainable future and how this plan will be reflected in the planning and environment community.”
The Conference showcased a diversity of topics and speakers, and included sessions on planning, environment and ecology, legal, waste and net zero.
Katie discussed the environmental and economic benefits of local SAF production in Queensland, the issues which other nations have encountered, and ways to overcome these issues and other concerns which have been raised. Katie also made several recommendations for federal, state and local governments in order to successfully develop a SAF industry in Queensland.
