We are proud to announce that our Partners Ashleigh Poole (Wills + Estates) and Tim Quirk (Planning + Environment) are finalists in this month’s Partner of the Year Awards.
As a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Succession Law, Ashleigh works closely with her clients to achieve an amicable and respectful compromise to avoid irreparable damage to family relationships.
During a busy 2022, Ashleigh was the lead advisor on several extremely complicated estate planning matters, litigious estate disputes (including Family Provision Applications) and estate administration matters.
Ashleigh is the Chair of a sub-committee of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) in Australia that has been responsible for developing a national mentoring program.
Tim has been a finalist for Planning and Environment Partner of the Year for three consecutive years. In 2022, Tim worked on high-profile matters in the Planning and Environment Court involving properties in Millionaire’s Row Hedges Avenue on the Gold Coast, the Rivermakers precinct, Paddington and New Farm.
He also negotiated solutions for clients in Toowong that enabled his client to proceed with their development project without delay.
As well as advising developers and property owners, Tim also works frequently with local Councils to provide general advice and develop strategies, policies and regulations around issues such as:
- effects of climate change on development;
- short-term letting arrangements;
- challenges between limited developable land opportunities versus an increasing population and housing boom;
- enforcement proceedings; and
- appeals.
This year’s Partner of the Year awards will be announced at the ceremony in Sydney on 20 July 2023.
Congratulations to Ashleigh and Tim, and all other finalists! We are proud to see their hard work recognised by Lawyers Weekly.
