Our Wills & Estates team again recognised by Doyle's Guide 2019

Thynne + Macartney is delighted to again be recognised for its expertise in the 2019 Doyle’s Guides for Leading Firms and Lawyers in both Wills, Estates and Succession Planning, and Wills & Estates Litigation in Queensland.

In addition, Karen, Margaret and Ashleigh are specialists accredited by the Queensland Law Society in Succession Law. There are 45 accredited specialists in Succession Law across Queensland.

This recognition follows last week’s success in the Queensland Supreme Court when Thynne + Macartney represented the Applicants in Campbell & Anor v T L Clacher No 2 Pty Ltd & Ors.

 


 

About Karen:

Karen GastonKaren has more than 15 years’ experience in succession law and leads Thynne + Macartney’s Wills & Estates team. Her practice involves all three areas of succession law, including estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation. Utilising her skills and training in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and collaborative law, Karen’s clients and the families she is advising work through issues which are often complex, delicate and contentious. Her extensive experience in estates disputes and litigation, including a number of high profile and reported disputes, enable her to help her clients do their best to avoid what can be a stressful and protracted dispute by preparing a considered and deliberate plan to ensure their wishes are carried out when the time comes.

 

About Margaret:

Margaret McNamaraMargaret has 30 years of experience in estates and succession planning. A Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Succession Law since 2002, she is a former member of the Queensland Law Society Specialist Accreditation Board and is a Notary Public. Margaret specialises in providing strategic advice on a broad range of estate and succession planning issues including preparation, interpretation and contesting of wills, administration and contesting of deceased estates, preparation and structuring of discretionary and other trusts, advising on and reviewing existing trust and business structures for succession planning, and sale of trust property. Margaret is a former recipient of the Agnes McWhinney Award awarded by the Queensland Law Society in recognition of leadership and achievement in the legal field, community leadership and support for community organisations, professional leadership that enhances the reputation of the legal community and work that improves access to justice in Queensland.

Ashleigh PooleAshleigh is a Queensland Law Society Accredited Specialist in Succession Law, experienced in all aspects of estate planning, estate administration, estate and equity litigation, trusts and QCAT matters. As a well-rounded succession lawyer, Ashleigh has considerable experience in deceased estate administration, estate and succession planning, estate and equity litigation, trusts and QCAT matters, and has advised on several complex deceased estates and estate planning matters where there has been a risk of a challenge to the estate and applications to QCAT.
