About Katie
Katie is a talented planning and environment Associate with 7 years' experience assisting Tim Quirk on complex and high-profile development and planning matters in Queensland.
Regularly appearing before the Planning and Environment Court on behalf of local government, property developers and investors, Katie's experience spans planning, environment and heritage issues including:
- Planning and Environment Court litigation / dispute resolution and declaratory proceedings
- Court of Appeal proceedings
- all aspects of land development and land use
- development approval revivals, minor changes and extensions
- enforcement proceedings and prosecutions for development and environmental offences
- infrastructure planning and charging
- vegetation clearing and management
- heritage issues and demolition control
- environmental management and compliance
- coastal management
- compliance with local and state planning instruments and legislation.
Katie joined Thynne + Macartney's Planning + Environment group in 2019 and was admitted in 2024. She has continued to broaden her knowledge in environmental and planning law, which includes presenting on sustainable aviation fuel at the 2022 Queensland Environmental Law Association conference.

- Admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in December 2024
