After a long and successful career, Margaret McNamara has retired from her role as a consultant at Thynne + Macartney leaving the practice in the safe hands of Partners Karen Gaston and Ashleigh Poole.
Karen and Ashleigh have worked with Margaret since 2015 and 2017 respectively, are independently recognised for their expertise in this area and have been integral to building Thynne + Macartney’s leading Wills & Estates practice.

Chairman of Partners Peter Jolly led the tributes to Margaret saying “This is an incredibly exciting time for Margaret and we wish her all the best with her next life adventure. Margaret has been a partner at Thynne + Macartney since 2008 and was a partner at Biggs & Biggs with me for 13 years before that. She will be missed by us all but has ensured that everything is in place for the Wills + Estates team to continue helping Queenslanders whether they are planning for the future or during times of need following the loss of a loved one.”

Karen Gaston has over 15 years of experience in succession law specialising in estate litigation. She has conducted numerous Family Provision Applications, challenges to the validity of Wills, litigation involving equitable relief and trust litigation. Karen has been involved in a number of cases leading to reported decisions and often acts as an expert witness on matters concerning good practice in Queensland succession law.
