Thynne + Macartney has grown its family law offering with the strategic acquisition of experienced partner, Fraser Bax from HopgoodGanim Lawyers.

General Manager Richard Knox said of the expansion, “Fraser’s appointment as head of our Family Law group marks a significant milestone for our private client offering. Growth has been a key strategy for Thynne + Macartney in 2025 with Fraser marking the third partner to join the ranks this year. We have been lucky to find in Fraser the skills and experience required to build an industry-leading practice at Thynne + Macartney.”
Chairman of Partners, Alex Ramsey, echoed Knox’s remarks adding, “Fraser is a strong leader and we are continuously impressed by his legal acumen and cultural fit. We are confident our family law practice is in steady hands with Fraser at the helm.”Fraser’s appointment follows a year of growth for the firm, complimenting the addition of Agriculture partner Raquel Bond and Employment partner Emily Harvey, and the opening of a regional office in Toowoomba to support clients in the Western Downs and Maranoa regions.
