Expanding Family Law team recognised alongside 21 practice areas in 2027 Best Law Firms Australia

Under the leadership of partner Fraser Bax, our expanding Family Law group achieved new listings for the firm in Family Law and Family Law Mediation for the first time since the directory was launched in Australia.

Our strength in property law matters is also highlighted with a promotion to a Tier 1 firm listing for Real Property, alongside recognition of our expertise in Non-Profit/Charities Law as a Tier 1 firm.

Earlier this year, Best Lawyers recognised 17 Thynne + Macartney lawyers amongst the best in the country across 21 areas of law in the 2027 edition of Best Lawyers Australia. Maritime + Transport partners Michael Fisher and Matthew Hockaday were awarded Transportation Law “Lawyer of the Year” and Shipping & Maritime Law “Lawyer of the Year”, respectively. For six out of the last seven years, a Thynne + Macartney partner has been awarded the Shipping & Maritime Law “Lawyer of the Year” award, with Matthew receiving the award in 2027, 2025 and 2022 editions and Michael in 2026, 2024 and 2021.
