Thynne + Macartney has strengthened the firm’s leading Wills + Estates group with the promotion of Vicky Martin to partner from 1 July.
Vicky has over 20 years’ Wills and estate experience and manages all aspects of estate planning, administration and litigation, including advising on complex succession plans and trusts. She is recognised by Doyle’s Guide for her expertise in estate litigation.
Vicky joined Thynne + Macartney’s Wills + Estates group as an associate in 2020 and was promoted to special counsel in 2024. Her non-traditional pathway to partner includes various legal and non-legal roles that culminated in her admission to the profession in 2017.
Leader of Thynne + Macartney’s Wills + Estates group, Ashleigh Poole, said of Vicky’s promotion, “I am extremely proud to see Vicky join the partnership and move into a leadership role within the Wills + Estates group. She is an exceptional Wills, estate and succession planning practitioner and capable litigator, and this promotion is a reflection of the dedication and steady guidance she provides her clients and junior members of the firm.”
Along with Vicky’s addition to the partnership, three lawyers across our offices in Brisbane, Cairns and Toowoomba will advance to more senior positions on 1 July this year.
