Tim Quirk a finalist in Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards 2021

22 June 2021

Tim Quirk has been named as a finalist for Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Awards in the Planning and Environment category for 2021.

As a finalist, Tim was recognised for the outstanding work he accomplished, as well as his leadership and contribution to his team and Thynne + Macartney throughout 2020.

Advising on more than 70 new matters throughout the year, Tim helped clients to navigate all matters surrounding planning, development, environmental and heritage issues affecting development approvals in Brisbane and across Queensland.

Tim also works frequently with local Councils to provide general advice and develop strategies, policies and regulations around issues such as:

  • effects of climate change on development;
  • short-term letting arrangements;
  • challenges between limited developable land opportunities versus an increasing population and housing boom;
  • enforcement proceedings; and

Last year was a fantastic year of growth for Tim and as a result he was able to expand the team to meet the increasing demands for legal service and representation for matters in the planning and environment industry.

Not only did he welcome Danielle Sibenaler as Special Counsel in early 2020 with her 10 years of experience as a town planner, but Tim also expanded the team with the hiring of a new Lawyer and Law Clerk.

In December 2020, Tim proudly saw the promotion of Tony Calligeros to Associate, who he had been mentoring since 2017 when Tony first began his journey with Thynne + Macartney as a Graduate Lawyer.

Category winners will be announced on 22 July 2021 at Lawyers Weekly Partner of the Year Award Ceremony.
